Humane Society of Mason County

Mission Statement & Plan

The Humane Society of Mason County is a non-profit organization providing assistance and care to displaced, abandoned or abused animals. We are committed to offering alternatives to euthanizing adoptable pets. We provide public education about animal care and treatment to promote responsible animal ownership and the prevention of cruel, neglectful, or inhumane treatment of animals.

Our current plans and goals:

Healthy Pet Adoptions: "Providing a second chance for companion animals" is our primary vision statement! By offering medical assistance, foster care and rehabilitation services we hope to be able to offer a second chance to many of the homeless, abandoned, neglected and abused animals in our county.

Construction of a No-Kill Shelter Facility: One of our current goals is the construction of a permanent shelter facility. With the construction of centrally located shelter we would be able to serve more county residents and have a location for our shelter building, adoption center, medical clinic and educational center.

Spay and Neuter Program: The importance of Spay and Neutering can not be stressed enough! Not only does this practice reduce the overwhelming number of homeless pets that are euthanized each year across this county but also helps to reduce the occurrence of disease transmission. We are dedicated of creating a Low Cost Spay and Neuter Project to assist county residents with income restrictions. For further information or to learn how you can get involved please contact us at 360-275-9310.

Educational and Community Out Reach Programs: The Humane Society is dedicated to offering outreach programs to help residents become better pet owners. Through awareness and education we hope to eliminate abuse, neglect and many abandonment issues here in Mason County.
